Financial services specialist BharCap is hiring an investment associate: Sponsored

BharCap Partners LLC, a well-capitalized spin-out from Pine Brook Partners, has an opening in its Greenwich, Connecticut headquarters for an investment associate to work on financial services deals. It’s a great opportunity to join an experienced group of five founders in the early stages of building a new private equity shop.

The Firm

The five founders of BharCap Partners previously worked together at Pine Brook Partners, a New York City firm known for its “line of equity” approach to investing, as well as traditional leveraged buyout investing. The track record that the Bharcap Partners team compiled at Pine Brook in financial services enabled the firm to launch earlier this year with $1.8 billion in institutional backing. That sum included $1.1 billion available for new deals. BharCap Partners is one of the largest start-up minority-owned and controlled private investment firms in the industry. It has a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion.

The Strategy

BharCap Partners invests $50 million to $350 million per deal to back companies in specialty finance; asset and wealth management; insurance and insurance services; financial technology; and tech-enabled business services. The firm has the ability to invest across the capital structure, from senior secured debt to common equity, and has the expertise to invest in existing entities or start new companies. In addition, BharCap Partners can provide long duration commitments, of up to seven to 10 years, to select specialty finance companies and other asset generators.

The Position

The associate supports the investment team, analyzing company financials, developing business plans, and making forecasts. Candidates must have great attention to detail and organizational skills, the ability to work well under tight deadlines, and the capacity to juggle multiple tasks. The role also requires strong analytical skills with a focus on LBOs, mergers & acquisitions, valuation, and corporate finance analyses.

The Requirements

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree, with a concentration in finance, business administration or accounting preferred. They should also have two or more years of experience working at a top investment bank, ideally in its financial institutions group.

Those interested in the associate position should send their resume to Jim Rutherfurd.
