Exclusive: Executive recruitment shop Randall Partners is itself hiring partners, associates

With its bread-and-butter CFO and CEO searches heating up, four-person executive recruitment firm Randall Partners next year plans to more than double its own payroll by adding three to four partners and three to four associates, Private Equity Career News has learned.

Managing Partner Craig Randall (pictured), who founded the business about a year ago, said he's particularly interested in hiring recruiters with expertise and connections in health care services, SaaS businesses, industrials, consumer services and business services. The new hires can be based anywhere in the United States. But they have to be a "great cultural fit" for Randall Partners, he said.

Exclusive: Jeffrey Wu joins Veritas Capital as partner; leaves Behrman Capital behind

Jeffrey Wu, who spent 18 years working at buyout shop Behrman Capital, most recently as partner, has joined fast-growing Veritas Capital as partner.

To his new role Wu  brings expertise in aerospace, defense, government services, healthcare and industrials. According to his Linkedin profile, he has recently served on the boards of clinical research company Emmes, optical and electrical cable assembly maker kSARIA, and electronic component services provider Corfin Industries.

Rhode Island joins key LPs adopting diversity scoring system

Employees' Retirement System of Rhode Island has become one of the latest limited partners to adopt a year-old scoring system measuring how well private equity firms do at hiring and supporting women and minorities.

It marks another milestone for an industry--largely comprised of white men in its first decades--on its belated journey toward a more cosmopolitan mix of employees.

All told LPs representing some $650 billion in limited partnership AUM use the new diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) scoring system. It was developed by collaborative software provider Lenox Park Solutions and marketed as the Lenox Park Diversity Impact Score. Some 450 private market firms out of 600 money managers altogether have been assigned scores on a scale of 0 to 10.

Despite the global pandemic, PE firms by and large continue to move forward with hiring, filling out their junior ranks, adding senior executives with specialized talents, and brushing aside an initial hesitance to bring aboard new employees without first meeting them in person.
