Ex-Northern Trust exec seeks $300M for debut private credit fund 

A firm founded by a former Northern Trust executive who was named one of the "most influential Black executives in corporate America" by Savoy magazine in 2020 has reached at least $24 million on a debut private credit fund.

Chicago-based The Copia Group, founded last year by Shundrawn Thomas, aims to raise an additional $276m for the Copia Credit Impact Fund I to reach its target of $300m, according to a regulatory filing.

Arianne Balducci (Esposito) joins the New York City office of late-stage venture firm TCV as head of people, according to her Linkedin profile. Balducci previously served as vice president-human capital management at investment bank Goldman Sachs.

Andrew Chen has been named investment officer for the liquid credit and private credit strategies at Employees' Retirement System of Hawaii, according to his Linkedin profile. Chen joined the $22.3 billion pension fund in 2013 after serving as a fixed income trading specialist at Bloomberg.

Microsoft co-founder’s multi-family office launches fund family

A multi-family office managing part of the fortune of late Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen has launched a new PE venture as it embarks on what it calls an “opportunistic” investment strategy in the private markets. The firm also is recruiting for five positions to add to its approximately 60 staff members.

Bellevue, Washington-based Cercano Management, which spun out of family office Vulcan Capital in late 2021 with some $8 billion in AUM, filed its latest Form D on October 19 to register a new fund called Cercano Integrity Private Equity LP.

Ex-Platinum Equity execs reach milestone on debut fund

Truelink Capital, led by former Platinum Equity investors Todd Golditch and Luke Myers, has raised at least $151 million for its debut fund.

Golditch and Myers, managing partners at the Los Angeles-based firm, submitted a regulatory filingthis month for Truelink Capital I LP and a related fund, earmarked for investments in technology-enabled services and industrials sectors. Greenhill & Co acts as placement agent.

Every single junior executive participating in our compensation study this year, for example, said they participated in an annual bonus program. The same goes for 96 percent of the mid-level executives and 75 percent of the senior executives. In our survey we consider analysts and associates to be junior executives; senior associates, VPs, principals and directors to be mid-level executives; and partners, managing directors, managing partners, CFOs and COOs to be senior executives.
