Prolific lower-mid-market investor The Riverside Company seeks a director of research to work alongside its investment and origination teams. Here’s more about the position:
The Firm: Founded in 1988, Riverside sponsors buy-and-builds in the lower middle market in North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. The firm has more than $14 billion in AUM. Its more than 200 employees pursue deals in business services, consumer brands, education, healthcare, software, and specialty manufacturing. Its nine fund families include ones earmarked for lower-mid-market buyouts, micro-cap deals and non-control investments.
Your Role: As director of research you’ll work with team members to develop investment themes worth pursuing. You will cultivate and develop Riverside advisory boards made up of outside industry leaders, and maintain relationships with Riverside portfolio company outside board members. With these resources at your disposal, you’ll identify and research private companies likely to be attractive investments. Attending trade shows as Riverside’s representative will help you expand industry knowledge. You’ll also direct marketing initiatives to generate awareness about our firm’s expertise.
Your Qualifications: You should ideally have a 10-year-plus track record in a research, consulting or investment role.
