Our favorite PE career pages and job boards

Private equity firms and their investors take a variety of approaches when it comes to advertising job openings on their Web sites.

On the one hand you have job-trumpeting firms such as Austin, Texas-based Vista Equity Partners. Its career page lets you search more than 4,000 open positions, including ones at the firm, its consulting group and its portfolio companies.

Among such firms, the easy-to-navigate search platform offered by Workday has become a popular choice for presenting job openings, our latest survey of career pages finds. Adherents include Ares Management, Bain Capital, and PSP Investments.

On the other hand, many large PE employers, including Advent International, General Atlantic, Leonard Green & Partners, Thoma Bravo and TPG, don’t list any job openings at all on their Web sites. Or at least our best efforts to find them didn’t turn up any. We were unable to reach executives at these firms to see if they had any plans to start advertising positions on their sites.

Private Equity Career News has advocated for more transparency when it comes to recruiting practices, and we want to cheer on firms that advertise open positions on their Web sites and on job boards. We feel it’s an important step for ensuring that a diversity of candidates finds out about job opportunities in the industry.

Below we highlight some of our favorite career sites hosted by PE firms and institutional investors. Paying members of PrivateEquityCareer.com can access the full list here, along with links to the most useful job boards.
