Wladimir Ortega joins the Boston office of fund administrator VISTRA as an enterprise account manager, according to his Linkedin profile. Ortega, who earlier in his career served as senior investment officer-private markets at the Office of the New York City Comptroller, most recently served as senior sales executive at SS&C Technologies.
Funds-of-funds manager Northleaf Capital Partners has bolstered its sustainability efforts with the recent hire of Maxim Olliver as its director of responsible investing.
Olliver, who previously led an environmental, social and governance strategy group at Big Four accounting firm KPMG, joined the Toronto-based firm's London office this month, the firm announced through LinkedIn. His role includes executing sustainability programs across the firm's private markets portfolio, as well as serving as the manager of its responsible investment committee.
Several private debt and equity firms, including AS Birch Grove, FSN Capital Partners, Summit Partners and TPG, are expected to be in the market with new funds this year.
Look for fundraises from, among others, private debt fund Ascribe Opportunities Fund V, European mid-market fund FSN Capital VII, Summit Partners Growth Equity Fund XII; and growth equity fund TPG Tech Adjacencies III LP.
Tony Akers has joined Chicago software investor Thoma Bravo as a cybersecurity architect, a development other private equity shops are sure to take note of as more cyber-mayhem grabs headlines.
Akers joined last month to "manage internal cybersecurity initiatives," according to his team page bio. Previously he worked on cybersecurity and cloud applications as a security architect at Ardagh Group, a producer of glass and metal products.
