The New York City-based sports and media league seeks a principal to help evaluate and manage investments. The position pays an expected salary of $200,000 to $220,000.

PE firms expand payrolls modestly for second year in a row

Payrolls at nine publicly traded private equity firms grew by 7 percent last year and the early part of 2025. That marked a slightly lower rate than in 2023 and a far slower rate than in 2022, according to recent analysis by Private Equity Career News.

The introduction of new investment strategies may be behind some of that hiring, according to Charles Wilson, senior vice president of investment management for Selby Jennings.

Carlyle taps new diversity head, modifies website language

Former KKR principal with family office ties raises at least $300 million for debut fund

New York City-based Raga Partners, founded by former KKR & Co executive Atul Joshi, has reached a capital raising milestone for the firm’s debut multi-strategy private fund.

The family office advisory firm, which also invests in both hedge funds and private capital funds on behalf of clients, has raised at least $300 million from 41 investors for its Raga Capital Partners I LP fund, according to a regulatory filing from earlier in January. The firm launched its flagship fund in 2022.

The outlook for start-up private equity shops remains bright, and Cross Rapids Capital LP is attempting to make its mark in middle-market private equity and special situations deals.

The New York City-based firm, with an appetite for industrial and services companies, has brought aboard Benjamin Gaw Jr as partner and head of portfolio operations. Gaw most recently served as senior director of portfolio operations at Boston-based buyout giant Advent International, according to his Linkedin profile; before that he served as senior vice president and head of Asia portfolio operations at Los Angeles-based Platinum Equity.
