Apollo-backed 25madison seeks $200M for debut

25madison is out seeking $200 million for its first buyout fund geared toward helping portfolio companies deploy artificial intelligence more effectively, a late November regulatory filing shows.

The New York City-based firm, which also has a Miami office, plans to make control investments in lower-middle-market businesses as part of its "AI transformation" buyouts strategy. The name of the partnership is 25Madison Propel Fund LP.

Big Moves: Brighton Park Capital, Harbor Oak Advisors, Centerbridge

Tom Hussey opens a London office for growth equity firm Brighton Park Capital, which has its headquarters in Greenwich, Connecticut along with offices located in New York City and San Francisco. Hussey, who most recently spent 12 years working on technology deals at growth equity firm General Atlantic, is charged with leading and expanding the European team.

Three senior executives step down from Cerberus

Three senior executives have left New York City-based alternative investment firm Cerberus Capital Management in recent weeks, including two that worked for its technology consulting arm.

No longer at the firm are Pavan Arora, previously chief technology officer and managing director for Cerberus Technology Solutions and Scott C. Johnson, previously managing director of business development for the same subsidiary. Meantime, Pankil Doshi has stepped down as managing director on the real estate private credit team at Cerberus Capital Management. Trilantic North America, Centerbridge lose senior executives

Two senior executives have recently left prominent New York City-based  fund managers Trilantic North America and Centerbridge Partners.

Lee Nussbaum has stepped down as managing director at buyout and growth equity shop Trilantic North America, while Brian Chu has stepped down as senior managing director at buyout, private credit and real estate investment firm Centerbridge Partners. Ex-Nautic, Freeman Spogli and Centerbridge execs launch PE firms

Two Boston-based private equity firms—Eastfield Capital and Tideshift Capital Group—have splashed into the lower middle market, led by founders with experience at Nautic Partners, Freeman Spogli & Co. and Centerbridge Partners.

Nick Vidnovic, a former principal at Nautic Partners, and Juan Pita, a former principal at Freeman Spogli, started Eastfield Capital to invest on a deal by deal basis in consumer services and business services companies.

Ex-Advent, Centerbridge, Carlyle execs launch debut buyout fund

Industrial and services-focused Cross Rapids Capital, founded by executives who moved from Advent International, Carlyle Group and Centerbridge Partners, is raising money for a debut buyout fund.

The New York City-based firm’s managing partner, Kyle Cruz, filed a regulatory form in late December for Cross Rapids Capital Partners I LP fund. No target was listed, although the firm's plan to invest $40 million to $125 million per deal suggests a substantial target.

Natalie Leone grabs reins as Centerbridge director of portfolio talent

Natalie Leone has joined New York City-based buyout shop Centerbridge Partners as managing director of portfolio talent, a role that is becoming de rigueur for large and mid-sized buyout shops.

Leone, who previously served as global head of HR business partners at money manager BlackRock, according to her Linkedin profile, appears to be taking the reins from Andrea Nunes, who served in the same role through June. Nunes's Linkedin profile says she is "on sabbatical," as well as "experimenting and exploring."

Ex-Advent, Centerbridge, KKR execs build new firm

The outlook for start-up private equity shops remains bright, and Cross Rapids Capital LP is attempting to make its mark in middle-market private equity and special situations deals.

The New York City-based firm, with an appetite for industrial and services companies, has brought aboard Benjamin Gaw Jr as partner and head of portfolio operations. Gaw most recently served as senior director of portfolio operations at Boston-based buyout giant Advent International, according to his Linkedin profile; before that he served as senior vice president and head of Asia portfolio operations at Los Angeles-based Platinum Equity.
