Gemspring, Peak Rock show why CalPERS loves emerging managers

Emerging managers have generated tremendous profits for California Public Employees’ Retirement System, amply justifying the pension fund’s recent faith in them, an analysis by Private Equity Career News shows.

An analysis of 54 PE emerging managers backed from roughly 2007 to 2018 on behalf of the $504 billion pension fund by money manager GCM Grosvenor shows they generated a median net IRR of 14.5 percent as of September 30. All told, GCM Grosvenor committed $895 million to the bunch.
