Big Move! Jeff Davis joins New York City placement agency Mercury Capital Advisors as a partner to lead North American private equity and private credit origination and project management, according to an announcement. Davis previously led distribution and origination for private equity and private credit for placement agency FirstPoint Equity Capital.
Industrial and services-focused Cross Rapids Capital, founded by executives who moved from Advent International, Carlyle Group and Centerbridge Partners, is raising money for a debut buyout fund.
The New York City-based firm’s managing partner, Kyle Cruz, filed a regulatory form in late December for Cross Rapids Capital Partners I LP fund. No target was listed, although the firm's plan to invest $40 million to $125 million per deal suggests a substantial target.
The outlook for start-up private equity shops remains bright, and Cross Rapids Capital LP is attempting to make its mark in middle-market private equity and special situations deals.
The New York City-based firm, with an appetite for industrial and services companies, has brought aboard Benjamin Gaw Jr as partner and head of portfolio operations. Gaw most recently served as senior director of portfolio operations at Boston-based buyout giant Advent International, according to his Linkedin profile; before that he served as senior vice president and head of Asia portfolio operations at Los Angeles-based Platinum Equity.
