Big Move! Marc Ewing-Chow becomes information security officer at San Francisco-based software investor Francisco Partners, according to his Linkedin profile. Ewing-Chow most recently served as chief information security officer at law firm Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck.

Big Move! Vanessa Gabela joins Miami-based buyout firm Mako Capital Group as partner and head of investor relations, according to her Linkedin profile. Gabela most recently served as managing director, head of fundraising and IR at heatthcare-focused buyout firm WM Partners. Founding Partners Pete Amaro, Angel Morales and Oscar Muñoz launched Mako Capital Group last summer to invest in healthcare, financial services and consumer services.

Big Move! Kristin Varela has been tapped to serve as the chief investment officer of the New Mexico State Investment Council. Varela, according to her Linkedin profile, most recently served as CIO at Employees’ Retirement System of the State of Hawaii.
